Upcoming FHWA Webcast: Enterprise Geographic Information System (eGIS)

The Federal Highway administration will host a webcast on the topic “The Maryland State Highway Administration (MDSHA)’s Enterprise Geographic Information System (eGIS)” on  June 11, 2014 . Maryland State Highway Administration (MDSHA)s eGIS is an Esri API for Flex-based geospatial data portal that allows internal agency staff to quickly and easily access an array of geospatial data and mapping applications for data analysis and data driven decision support.

The eGIS system supports MDSHA’s asset management program and performance based planning.  The portal functions as an aggregator, making it possible for users to query and visualize information from one source without needing to gain access to multiple databases. The webcast will include an overview of the portal, demonstrations of a few specific functions of the portal, and a discussion of statistics on the portal’s use.
