City of Grande Prairie to Use Google Transit Services

Grande Prairie, Alberta runs transit services, providing livable options for the community. It is currently in the midst of getting their bus routes and schedules programmed into Google Transit. According to the GP Transit Coordinator, they are working closer with the GIS and IT departments to install this feature. Google Transit would enable service users to access information about schedules, arrivals, and route details quickly.

The transition to Google Transit Services is a boon to the county and city of Grand Prairie. It is the fifth city in Alberta to use this service, and underscores the growing international consensus among transit professionals that open data architecture promotes transit ridership.
