ArcGIS is Being Used to Improve US Fuel-Efficiency Standards

Researchers at the University of California, Riverside are using ESRI’s ArcGIS geographic information system (GIS) software to evaluate technologies that provide drivers feedback about harmful emissions and fuel efficiency. The Department of Energy (DOE) has allocated a $1.2 million grant for the three-year project, officially named the Next-Generation Environmentally Friendly Driving Feedback Systems Research and Development.
