On October 19, 2010, Yankee Group’ released their report “Best of the Anywhere Web 2010” ranking the best mobile websites based on user orientation, device and network adaptability, design and overall effectiveness. Mobile websites across four categories–shopping, transportation, technology, and mobile operators–were evaluated. To add more precision to the rankings, Yankee Group partnered with Keynote Systems to evaluate the average download speed, network performance, and reliability.
There was a three-way tie for first place in the transportation category between BART, Amtrak, and JetBlue.
Winners for the other three categories were: Walmart (shopping); Google (technology); and Sprint (mobile operators).
